The title means “the sweetness of doing nothing.”
I learned this admirable phrase in Italy quite a few years ago. Generally speaking, Italians (Latins in general) are people who have a healthy attitude about such things.
The idea here musically was to try to find a quaint and easy melody to match the title.
I like coming up with a melody that sounds sort of familiar but has an unexpected twist or two.
