(Composed and performed by Reynold D. Philipsek copyright 2015 Zino-Rephi Music BMI)
Recording engineer: Stymie Seamans
This piece in C sharp minor is a particularly Slavic melancholy key. Chopin, Scriabin, and Rachmaninov all wrote short pieces in this key.
I use the title to commemorate “Sasha” (Scriabin’s nickname) and Dinu (Dinu Lipatti a Romanian 1917-1950).
If you are not familiar with Dinu Lipatti’s name, check him out. He died young but was a marvelous pianist and composer. Recordings of his compositions are hard to locate but they are out there. He was much better known as a pianist and did record a bit.
I like the name Sasha so much that we named our darling dog Sasha or “Sashi.”
Be safe.
