Guitar and mandolin-Reynold
Bass-Matt Senjem

There are four recordings of this song. One with East Side, one solo guitar, one with Sidewalk Cafe and this one which is the original version of the song.
Each of the versions has its own individual merits and all are available online (Apple Music, Youtube etc.)
There is a distinctly modal character to the line and harmony. The slant to the line is definitely leaning East. The 11/4 “mantra” is recurrent and becomes a sort of Western “raga.”
The doubling of the mandolin on the line gives a little edge to it that I like and I think is very appropriate.
There are several songs I have written (Butterfly, Sans Souci, Mary, Tempus Fugit, Astoria, July, Rococo, Up Town and several others) that I think are signature pieces and this song is definitely in that group.
I hope you are all well and safe. Stay that way.
