I worked on this during the winter of 2018-2019 in the pre-pandemic time while we were in Fort Myers Beach which has sadly been hit very hard by a hurricane.
I have always liked the “Theme and Variations” form. While writing this, I often referred to Rachmaninoff (variations on themes by Paganini, Corelli, and Chopin) and Brahms work in the form.
My friend Rene Erickson directed and produced this video.
