I forget the precise year I wrote this song but it was an early summer day when I came across the idea.
I do exactly remember how I came up with the musical idea, however. I was out for my daily jog in the wooded area near the “grey chalet” when the main riff came to mind. The harmonic idea of E-minor to C7 was rolling around in my mind as I started the jog. (There are two other recorded versions-one completely solo guitar and one small group version with East Side.)
By the end of that daily jog, I had the tune completed.
This “guitar on guitar” recording thing is something I have done most of my life. When I was 12 years old, my mother bought a reel-to-reel recorder that could record “sound on sound.” Believe it or not, she got this tape deck at the local Penney’s department store (this recorder is currently non-functional but
still resides in my basement). Over the years I have easily done 50 pieces this way.
The energy is good on this version even though it is only two bare guitars.
Gigs have started for the summer of 2024 and this song is on the playlist. Schedule posted here at reynold.com
Stay safe. Be kind.
