Personally, I really like this song, recording, and production. I’m sorry if that seems immodest.
There are several recorded versions of this song. The other versions are instrumental only. It was at the suggestion of a radio promoter that I added a lyric and vocal for my last album. (In fact, this track and “Sweet On You” were promoted as “singles.”)
The lyric leans a bit “Zen-Eastern” in philosophy but I hope you get the gist. There may be a few “NDE” type references but that’s intended. I’m a believer. “Astoria” is a sort of code name for “nirvana.” I guess I’m just an old “hippie.”
Also, the general 3-3-2 groove is Nuevo tango, which was originated by Astor Piazzolla, which is a second connection to the title. Stymie did a great engineering job, I think.
(Headphones help bring out the details.)
Be kind.
Keep love alive.
Thanks,
Reyn

(Philipsek)
I’ve been dreaming
Of a multi-colored scheme
Sunshine
Blue Skies
Crimson Flowers Flare
Calm
Peace
Dream
Astoria
Soaring
Above and
Beyond the here and now
No more
Waiting
Wondering
Where and why
