First of all I use a “processed” sound on some of the electric guitars for this song. That’s not so usual for me. There are lots of guitar tracks here, too, including a “capoed” acoustic with non-standard tuning.
It may not be obvious but Ravel’s “Bolero” was a model here because of the evolving repeated form. Also, the “dawn scene” from Ravel’s “Daphnis and Chloe” inspired the general idea and the title.
Normally my recorded guitar sound on both acoustic and electric is very straight, unadorned, and unprocessed. In all, this is a real departure for me. But I like it.
Headphones help.
Love.
Stay safe.
