(Composed by Django Reinhardt)
Guitars-Reynold
This is a very well known Django composition that is played by nearly all of those musicians who play “gypsy jazz.”
The title approximately means “sweet atmosphere.”
As I have stated before I am not keen on recording cover songs but I also have to admit that my association with Django’s music has brought more attention to my own stuff.
This version, which I recorded nearly 20 years ago, has been very popular (if you judge by downloads) in Europe and Japan. That of course is probably due to the fact that Django has become so well known posthumously and this was one of his better known tunes. The infamous “la pomp” (straight quarter rhythm guitar) is a little less rigid as I play it because I like a little more “American jazz” swing feel.
Stay safe.
Love,
Reyn
