Over the years, I have played many gigs in East Hennepin or the nearby North-East Minneapolis area. So, that terrain has a certain vibe for me. For many of those years, we had a weekly gig at The Times Bar in East Hennepin.
This type of “swing” is very much descendant from Django but I have always put a bit of my own spin on these sorts of tunes and am glad to have done so in retrospect.
The guitar improv has a lot of brio and includes some species of what a close musician friend of mine calls “signature sextuplet butterflies.”
(I’ll take that as a compliment with crossed fingers)
Headphones help, especially on acoustic bass line.
