In 1994, my wife and I made a two month around the world trip, which included Japan, China, Hong Kong, Thailand, Greece, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Luxembourg, France, Holland, and England. I then wrote and recorded the “Global Home Movie” album which, to this day, is one of the most popular recordings I have ever made.
“Hong Kong Harry” is a unique song in my canon. It is essentially a film noir soundtrack with me doing a voice over in the style of a film noir private eye.
This is probably a strange take on Hong Kong (which at the time had not been reunited with China).
Obviously the story is meant to be a humorous take on the film noir genre which I deeply admire.
