I’ve rewritten some of the lyrics to this song this past summer. We remodeled our house this summer so why not remodel some songs as well? It (new words) improves the whole idea too, I think.
The idea being, that as a lifelong itinerate musician and songwriter, you are continually trying to plant a few “seeds” of thoughtful grist. Sort of like sending off a message to the future with any luck. Probably too much to hope for, but I know all songwriters hold this hope, even if they won’t admit it.
It’s like trying to tell some unborn listener that we were anxious too, and indicate what the human predicament was like for comparison. The lyrics in this original version are a little too flat-footed and obvious for my taste now. I probably will include the new version on a solo video set I want to make next year, if things get better.
Be well. Stay safe. Have hope.
