This track is a rarity. This song has never appeared on an album and really only exists as this YouTube video.
John Hammond created the video using images from all points past in my musical history. I gave him pretty much free reign on “Who Knows?”. Some of these images go back to when I was about 2 years old. There is even a brief glimpse at my parents from a few years before I was born.
“Who Knows?” Is an open-ended existential question. The ever-changing and meandering harmonic movement sets a “searching” mood and the final chord is a real question mark. Makes be a touch of Satie as well?
